A big thank you to everyone who has donated to ‘Help Nepal’s Villages’. Your support has been overwhelming. It’s been a busy ten days and we have raised over £10,000 (including off line donations). We are thrilled.
So far we have given your donation money to 48 villagers to help repair their homes in the villages of Siding, Kalimati and Lwang Ghalel all located about 10 miles out of Pokhara. Your money paid for building supplies and labour costs. Some of the homes are being rebuilt right now so we’re making progress, see photo below. We paid one man’s hospital expenses and visited Bhumlichowk village an area mostly populated by the Chepang caste and located four hours by foot from the Pokhara to Kathmandu Road. The team’s jeep was stuffed full of tents, food, clothing and other supplies and they were the only group to arrive with aid. This village is in a dreadful state due to its close proximity to the epicentre yet we were able to help 51 families with supplies and support. The Bhumlichowk update will be coming soon.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your help. Nepal is in a desperate state but we will keep going as long as the donations come in.
Please spread word of our campaign.
Thank you so much again.
